Since the 1st of August 2011 Béla Németh has been the President of the Central- and Eastern European Region of Interpublic Group and also the member of the European Leadership Team. At this position his most important responsibility is to ensure the cooperation between the individual units of both networks of Initiative and Universal McCann, moreover to grow their businesses in CEE. In his main focus there are the 4 IPG-owned units with 250 employees in Poland, Hungary, Czech and Romania – in addition to Slovakia, and South Eastern Europe (SEE). His most recent regional initiative was to launch the CEE Programmatic Hub (Cadreon) in Budapest, Hungary, providing services to 10 countries since 2015.

Since the 1st of January 2008 Bela has been the Chairman of the Group in Hungary, involving all the three IPG Communication Channel Agencies: Brand Connection, Initiative, Universal McCann; and the two specialized agencies: Cadreon (programmatic) and Fastbridge (online creative). His key challenge is to identify all the possible efficiencies between the four units and to generate growth for the 80-employee group via the synergies and unique, independent positioning of the units.

Since 2003, as Regional Director of Initiative in CEE, Bela has been responsible for the three Initiative-owned offices in Budapest, Prague and Warsaw plus supports the partner agencies in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia-Montenegro, Slovakia and Slovenia. Bela’s responsibility is also to ensure a smooth co-ordination from the Budapest office.

As Managing Director, Initiative Budapest, Bela managed the 25-employee office. He has been working with the company since its establishment, 1996, and when he took over the MD position there were only 8 people working for the Budapest unit of Initiative back in 1998. In addition to building up and managing the company, he has been involved in new business, client service and broadcast negotiations. Under his management Initiative Hungary won Cannes Silver Lion for “Best use of OOH” in 2011.

Bela joined to Lintas Advertising Agency in 1992 as Media Buyer. In 1996 when Initiative Media Budapest was set up he was Broadcast Director of the company.

Bela earned his bachelor’s degree from the Budapest University of Economics. In 1990, after University he won a scholarship to a two year long MBA Course in Madrid. Madrid Business School gave him fluent English and Spanish, in addition to the MBA diploma.

Bela lives in Budapest, Hungary. His hobbies: travelling, sports and wine&food.
